What Tutorial video producer does
You hand over a screen recording and get back a finished, branded tutorial video. The voiceover script is timed to what is actually on screen, the narration is rendered with the voice named in your profile, and the video comes out captioned and watermarked.
What you give it
A raw screen recording, plus a profile naming the TTS engine, the voice, the watermark and the output folder.
What you get back
- A voiceover script timed to the real on-screen steps
- Voiceover audio rendered with your chosen engine and voice
- A final MP4 with narration mixed, captions burned in and your logo watermarked
- An .srt caption file for YouTube and Vimeo
- A plain-text step-by-step guide for a knowledge base or help doc
Use cases
Client walkthroughs
Record once, hand over a branded video plus a written guide the client can follow later.
Training and onboarding clips
Captions and a step guide make the same recording usable by people who cannot play audio.
A video library that sounds consistent
The voice is a brand decision, so the skill never substitutes a different one. A video that sounds like someone else is worse than one delivered a day later.
How to use Tutorial video producer
Install the video toolkit
/plugin install video-toolkit@claude-skills
Set the voice and branding profile
~/.claude/profiles/tutorial-video-producer.md holds the TTS engine and path, the voice model, the watermark image and placement, caption styling and the output folder.
Share the recording
Ask for a tutorial, a walkthrough, captions or a voiceover.
Collect five files
Script, audio, MP4, .srt and step guide, unless you ask for fewer.
Benefits
Never fakes a result
If a step fails it says so and why. A video reported as built but never checked wastes far more time than one reported as broken.
Degrades honestly
Without a TTS engine you still get the script, the .srt, the step guide and a captioned, watermarked video, with the missing narration stated plainly.
Keeps moving
Missing details such as the client name or the target platform are assumed sensibly and the assumption is stated, instead of stalling on something you can change later.
Current ffmpeg flags
Codec and ffmpeg options are checked against current documentation rather than recalled.

- Needs
- ffmpeg, and a TTS engine you name in the profile.
- Profile
- Reads
~/.claude/profiles/tutorial-video-producer.md. It asks for the details the first time and offers to save them there, so later runs ask nothing.
Questions about tutorial-video-producer
- Which text-to-speech engine does it use?
- Whichever one you name in the profile. A local Piper setup is the worked example in the bundled sample profile, but the engine and voice are yours to choose.
