What LinkedIn post writer does
Turns a topic you name, or whatever was worked out in the conversation you are already in, into one LinkedIn post you can publish as is, with a 1080 x 1350 infographic to post alongside it. The post keeps the lesson and drops the private details, so other developers, designers and freelancers recognise their own work in it.
What you give it
A topic, or nothing at all when you want the post written from the current conversation.
What you get back
- One post of roughly 150 to 250 words: hook, story, three or four numbered lessons, close and at most three hashtags
- A 1080 x 1350 portrait infographic rendered to PNG, with points that match the post
Use cases
Post about what you just fixed
You finish a debugging session and want something to share. The skill picks the topic out of the conversation, states it in one line, and writes the post.
Keeping a posting habit without a content calendar
Every piece of real work is a post. The hook, the story and the lesson structure means you are not staring at an empty box.
A graphic without opening a design tool
The infographic is built as HTML with inline SVG and rendered with Playwright, so the fonts and spacing are right the first time.
How to use LinkedIn post writer
Install the writing toolkit
/plugin install writing-toolkit@claude-skills
Fill in the LinkedIn profile once
The first run asks for your role, years and field of experience, main tools, where you are based, and anything off-limits, then offers to save it to ~/.claude/profiles/linkedin.md. Later runs ask nothing.
Name a topic, or say 'based on this conversation'
The chosen topic is stated in one line before the post, so a wrong pick costs one message to correct.
Check the rendered PNG
The skill looks at the image it produced and fixes overlaps and awkward wraps before handing it over. You review it once and post.
Benefits
Nothing invented under your name
No made-up clients, numbers or results. On a public post with your face on it, a fabricated figure is yours to defend.
Discreet by default
No client names, employer names, domains or project names make it into the post. A post about the shape of a problem is the one other people recognise.
Reads like a person
Simple English, short sentences, no buzzwords, no em dashes and at most one emoji. It does not sound like marketing output.
Post and image in one pass
You get the written post and the graphic together, not in two separate requests.
Install linkedin-post-writer
This skill ships in the writing-toolkit plugin. Add the marketplace once, then install the plugin in Claude Code.
/plugin marketplace add rodneylungayan/claude-skills
/plugin install writing-toolkit@claude-skillsAfter that the skill loads on its own whenever your request matches it. You can also invoke it by name with /linkedin-post-writer.
- Needs
- Playwright, to render the infographic to PNG.
- Profile
- Reads
~/.claude/profiles/linkedin.md. It asks for the details the first time and offers to save them there, so later runs ask nothing.
Questions about linkedin-post-writer
- Does it share client names or project details?
- No. Client names, employer names, domains, project names and URLs are kept out of the post on purpose. The story is described in general terms so it stays relatable and discreet.
- What happens if Playwright is not installed?
- The skill says so and still gives you the post. It tells you what is missing rather than quietly producing a worse image.
